COVID-19: UGCY POSPONED
Update 22nd May 2020
The last few months have been filled with uncertainty for all of us, so we hope you and your family are keeping safe and well.
UGCY has continued to closely monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19, the safety of everyone involved with UGCY2020 and those attending the event, continue to be our top priority. In light of the recent UK government directive, we feel it is only right that we now postpone UGCY2020 until the start of the academic year and/or when universities reopen in the UK & Ireland.
16th March 2020
Further to our statement last week and in response to the latest updates around the COVID-19 (coronavirus), we've taken the decision to postpone UGCY 2020 scheduled to take place on March 28th until the summer. We appreciate all the choirs’ efforts and your support so far, but the health and safety of everyone involved with UGCY2020 and attending the event is our priority. We're constantly monitoring the situation and believe the summer will be a more viable time to hold UGCY.
If you’ve bought tickets for the show, not to worry, they’ll be valid for the new date which we’ll announce soon!
Thank you for your understanding. Look out for further updates and if you have any questions please don't hestiate to get in contact

COVID-19: OFFICIAL UGCY STATEMENT
11th March 2020
UGCY is closely monitoring the current situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) as it develops.
The UK Chief Medical Officer has recently raised the risk level to the public from low to moderate, so UGCY is closely following official health updates as well as World Health Organisation and UK Government guidelines. Given the size of our event, we are constantly reviewing the upcoming UGCY competition on March 28th 2020 and are prepared to take any action required to help protect our university community, gospel community and the wider public, including postponing the event until later in the year if necessary. We will make a final decision shortly.
In the meantime, please keep an eye on our website and social channels for updates. We'll send out further information on next steps related to the event in the very near future.
